I have been working in graphics deparments for 4 years now and became pretty good in optimising design workflows. During this time I introduced my colleagues to data driven design, scripted automations and dynamic templates which reduced the time spent on routine tasks, cleared out sizeable backlogs and enabled the designers to focus on more creative aspects of their work.
Besides workflow optimisation, what I really like to do is to explore novel ways of extracting information from data and illustrating them in interactive formats such as the examples at the top of this page.
I am a skilled graphic designer and I have designed publications, ads, brand identities and illustrations that have been succesful with my clients in meeting their briefs and budgets while still feeling fresh and captivating.
My specialisation is in illustration and design for medical subjects which is supported by my training in classical draughtsmanship. I have competently liaised with medical professionals in order to create eye-catching designs that clearly communicate complex information to both specialists and the general public.
I am also an accomplished photographer, in studio and on site, with expertise in handling sensitive subject matter and members of vulnerable groups professionally and with respect.
In contrast to my tendency to optimise I have always enjoyed animation and have often offered animated options to my clients. I have worked for stop-motion films and have the technical know-how and work ethic to follow through with such demanding projects.
The experience of working in performance production but also building maintenance has made me an excellent team player and a hard worker. I can work efficiently under pressure and I quickly adapt to a fast paced environment. As a past teacher, I have very good communication skills and the ability to lead while maintaining an overview of the dynamic of a group.
