I am Deniz Derbent (Istanbul, 1994) I am a visual communication designer and media artist living and working in Berlin. I graduated from İstanbul Bilgi University Visual Communication Design Department in 2017. I am currently studying for her Media Spaces master’s degree at the University of Applied Sciences Europe – BTK).
My main background focused on graphic design. In time, I developed my skills in other disciplines such as interaction design, production methods, sound design, and installation. Since 2015, I have been collectively designing new structures using traditional animation techniques combined with modern technologies. Using this method, I created an optical illusion based kinetic sculptures, which are progressive media players acting as analog screens. In past years, I focused on architectural installations and continues to create a way to utilize the harmony of technology, material, space, audio, moving and non-linear forms of expression.
