Katrin Winkler works with photography and video. She holds a BFA in Photography from the University of Applied Sciences, Munich. She was a student research Assistant at the Katutura Community Art Center/College of the Arts, Media Arts Technology Studies, Windhoek, Namibia as well as at City Varsity/School of Media and Creative Arts, Cape Town, South Africa. She continued her studies in the class for mass media research an art in public media space at the Academy of Fine Arts, Leipzig. She received a Fulbright Scholarship and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Photography&Media&Integrated Media from the California Institute of the Arts.
Her work has recently been shown at the Mandarin Plaza Chinatown (Los Angeles, CA), the Bruce Silverstein Gallery (New York City, NY), the Spinnerei/Halle 14 (Leipzig, Germany), in public space+Fluxus Ministerjia, Vilnius, Lithuania, on the Austrian television program Okto-TV (PAL-positions, Vienna, Austria), the Aspekte Gallery and Kunstbunker Tumulka (Munich, Germany).
