Peres Projects is seeking a Freelance Head Art Handler for immediate hire.

This is a hands-on position requiring full participation in the daily work of handling art including the packing, transporting, installing and storing of art works.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Installation and de-installation of exhibitions and viewings at the gallery and storage areas

- Packing of works for shipment, pickups and deliveries

- Performing local transports

- Preparing gallery for display by painting walls and rough carpentry

- Assisting in condition checking of incoming works

- Coordination with local and international companies for the production of artworks, including framing, stretching of artworks, building of plinths, ordering of storage equipment

The ideal candidate will posses:

- Knowledge of proper care and storing procedures

- Working knowledge of most power tools

- A valid drivers license is preferred

- Is professional, tidy, punctual and efficient in both work & appearance

- Is able to work independently and as part of a team

- Can take direction well and enjoys working in a gallery environment where communication is key

- Working knowledge of Macintosh based computer programs as well as familiarity with maintaining inventory organisation within an art database

- Fluent German and English is required
