The concept of Shanghai Autoshow was to emphasize the transition phase of the movement of the brand between the old brand design into the new brand design of Volkswagen. The iconic white frames are used to bound the information including the text, graphics, car models, etc.
The space is centralized with a rectangular interactive space, which serves as a stage for performance, speeches, group events as well as for visitors and interactive projection artwork on the screen. The spatial arrangement is projected outward radially with lines of force depicted by the frames (which sometimes takes the shape of a sitting furniture, some times a screen or information panels) and the car models are exhibited along those lines of force.
The ceiling is dominated with radial light panels positioned outwards starting from the central stage. The panels are levelled up as it goes outwards from the stage. The central stage along with e ceiling elements controls the overall ambience of the space.
