Mobile fundraising project of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)

ShareTheMeal enables people to “share their meals” with children that would otherwise have nothing to eat. Our goal is to accelerate the reduction of global hunger as much as possible, and ultimately to end it. Also, we want to provide people with an easy way to do good (or “share”).
Through 2 clicks on their smartphones users can donate 40 cents which will feed 1 hungry child for 1 full day. The United Nations World Food Programme receives the funds and distributes the meals; and we show users where.
ShareTheMeal is a non-profit initiative launched in an innovations incubator of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). The team is working in partnership with various external supporters (angel investors, app developers, marketing and PR agencies) to launch a pilot and test the concept.
WFP is the United Nations frontline humanitarian agency addressing hunger and malnutrition worldwide. Each year, on average, WFP feeds more than 90 million people in more than 70 countries.
