With a large format Linhof camera in my backpack, I bike through Berlin, looking for people living in an unconventional way. During these journeys, I meet many people who are haunting strange places. These places were somehow appealing to me because they have a special atmosphere, a mix of something freaky and scary, I like this kind of stuff. I walk through abandoned gardens occupied by illegal immigrants. I cross fallow territories squatted by Europeans hoping to flee the economic crisis in quest of a new Eldorado. Often left out or living at the margins of our society, most of the people I encounter share a fundamental need to improvise“a place to live”.
